About Exploring Andean & Medicine Music
This event invites you to submerge into the music of the Andes and music as medicine. Exploring the rich and spiritual culture of the traditional instruments and Latin-American folkloric rhythms.
You will try to dive into the use of this music as a channel of prayer, and connection to spirit and the elements.
Come and join if you will touch on different playing techniques with each instrument.
We will all coming together as an ensemble, we will play flutes, strings and percussion.
NOTE: No prior musical experinece is required to participate. Please feel free to bring your own instruments for the ensemble. (Guitars, charangos, flutes, drums, ukulele's, violins, etc.)
Andean Flutes
* Sikus (Pan Flutes), Qenas, Qenachos
* Traditional Sikuri Circle: play, dance & drums
Charango & Guitars
* Exploration of Andean, Amazonian & Latin-American folk rhythms
Music & Instruments as channels of healing and spiritual connection
Group Ensemble
* Participants will form an ensemble & practice a musical creation
